The Regimental Signaller Officers Course conducted at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, concluded on February 23, 2026, marking the successful completion of an intensive training programme focused on strengthening tactical communication and signalling capabilities at the battalion level.
The prestigious course was attended by officers of the Indian Army along with officers from friendly foreign nations including Mauritius, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mongolia, Namibia and Sri Lanka. The participation of international officers underscored India’s continued commitment to defence cooperation and professional military education partnerships with friendly countries.

The course was designed to enhance proficiency in Battalion Level Signalling, Tactical Communication systems, Signal-Oriented Tactics and emerging niche technologies relevant to modern network-centric operations. Officers underwent a comprehensive mix of classroom instruction, simulation-based learning and field exercises aimed at integrating communication systems seamlessly with operational strategies on the battlefield.
Modern warfare increasingly demands secure, adaptive and resilient communication networks. The training programme at MCTE focused on equipping officers with the technical expertise and operational acumen necessary to maintain uninterrupted command and control during dynamic operational scenarios, including high-intensity and electronic warfare environments.

Major General Gautam Mahajan, SM, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, MCTE, delivered the closing address at the culmination ceremony. In his address, he congratulated the officers for successfully completing the demanding course and highlighted the critical role played by Signaller Officers in ensuring effective decision-making and mission success through reliable communication frameworks.
During the ceremony, outstanding performers were felicitated. Captain Jatin Garg was adjudged the ‘Best Student’ of the course in recognition of his exceptional performance across academic, practical and leadership domains.

The successful conduct of the Regimental Signaller Officers Course further reinforces MCTE’s standing as the Indian Army’s premier institution for telecommunication engineering and signal training. By training officers from both India and friendly foreign nations, the institution continues to promote interoperability, strengthen military-to-military ties and prepare signallers to meet the technological and operational challenges of future warfare.
