Rajesh Kumar Singh, IAS, Defence Secretary of India, and Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, witnessed the culmination of the multi-agency Exercise TATRAKSHA, which showcased seamless integration of security forces in coastal and creek operations.
The integrated training exercise, conducted over a period of three weeks, involved joint forces from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force, and the Gujarat Marine Police, with active support from the civil administration. The exercise rehearsed coordinated responses to evolving security scenarios across the coastal and creek environment, focusing on rapid decision-making, joint surveillance, and synchronised operational execution.
During the exercise, participating agencies demonstrated exceptional operational synergy, strong military–civil fusion, and high levels of inter-agency coordination. The drills validated preparedness levels, rapid response mechanisms, and the ability of multiple agencies to operate as a unified force under dynamic and challenging conditions.
The synchronised actions, precision in execution, and high state of readiness displayed by the joint forces underscored a decisive integrated capability to address the full spectrum of operations in the sector. Exercise TATRAKSHA reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening coastal and creek security through jointness, integration, and continuous readiness, while reinforcing the nation’s overall security architecture.
