During his ongoing official visit to Australia, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited the Australian Army’s Forces Command and Headquarters 2nd Division, where he held detailed discussions with the Acting Commander Forces Command and the Commander 2nd Division.

The engagements focused on further strengthening bilateral training cooperation, enhancing interoperability and identifying new avenues of collaboration between the two armies. Discussions also explored cooperation in niche and emerging technologies, reflecting a shared emphasis on future-ready force development.

General Dwivedi received comprehensive briefings on the operational roles, training philosophies and organisational structures of the formations. Professional exchanges during the visit highlighted the common operational ethos of the Indian and Australian Armies and a forward-looking approach to joint capacity building.

The visit reaffirmed the growing India–Australia defence partnership and underscored the mutual commitment of both nations to deepen military-to-military engagement, contributing to regional security and stability in the Indo-Pacific.
