Lt Gen DG Misra, AVSM, General Officer Commanding of Uttar Bharat Area, visited Headquarters Pashchim UP Sub Area at Meerut on 04 February 2026 and reviewed the operational and administrative preparedness of the formation.
During the visit, the Army Commander assessed key functional areas and interacted with commanders and staff, emphasising the importance of sustained readiness, efficient administration, and troop welfare in maintaining operational effectiveness.

In a significant and morale-boosting moment, Lt Gen DG Misra dedicated 294 newly constructed dwelling units at Parameswaran Enclave to the soldiers and families of Meerut Military Station. The new residential infrastructure is aimed at enhancing quality of life, strengthening family support systems, and reinforcing the wellbeing of service personnel.

Addressing those present, the Army Commander highlighted that robust living infrastructure is a vital enabler of morale and combat readiness. He noted that providing dignified living conditions for soldiers and their families reflects the Armyโs enduring commitment to those who serve the nation with dedication and pride.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Armyโs focus on operational preparedness, administrative excellence, and holistic welfare of its personnel, recognising that strong foundations at home are integral to success on the battlefield.
