Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, conferred awards on 34 distinguished personnel for acts of valour, courage, and distinguished service to the nation during the Southern Command Investiture Ceremony 2026, held at Ahmedabad. In addition, 33 elite units were honoured with the โGOC-in-C, Southern Command Unit Citationโ in recognition of their operational excellence, professional achievements, and stellar performance.
Addressing the gathering, the Army Commander stated that the investiture ceremony stands as a tribute to exceptional courage, unwavering professionalism, and selfless service to the nation. He emphasised that the ceremony draws inspiration from the supreme sacrifices of fallen heroes and the enduring legacy of veterans who continue to guide and motivate future generations of soldiers.

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth highlighted the high operational readiness of Southern Command, underscoring its strong jointmanship and multi-domain capabilities demonstrated during recent operations and major training exercises. He reaffirmed the Commandโs continued focus on strengthening operational preparedness, advancing technological modernisation, and enhancing inter-agency synergy to build a more integrated and resilient security architecture.

The ceremony was attended by senior military and civil dignitaries, defence officials, veterans, Veer Naris, and Veer Matas.
