Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, visited the Shahbaz Division to review the formation’s operational preparedness, modern warfighting capabilities and ongoing technology absorption initiatives.

During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the formation’s decisive transition towards a future-ready force, enabled by New Generation Equipment (NGE), a robust drone ecosystem, automation measures and the adoption of artificial intelligence. The review also highlighted the employment of loitering munitions and indigenous innovations, including mobile unmanned aerial system (UAS) fabrication and repair lorries designed to sustain high-tempo operations.

Lt Gen Seth witnessed live demonstrations of precision munition delivery by in-house developed platforms, underscoring enhanced battlefield dominance through remotely delivered lethality and strengthened capacity to counter emerging threats across the spectrum of modern warfare.

Commending the formation’s forward-looking and innovation-driven approach, the Army Commander lauded its momentum in accelerating self-reliance and rapid technology infusion under the Indian Army’s ongoing transformation roadmap. He emphasised the need to convert technological advancements into credible, mission-ready combat power to maintain operational superiority in evolving conflict scenarios.
