Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff (CISC), visited the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington from 22 to 24 March 2026, where he addressed participants of the 81st Staff Course.
Address to Officers and Faculty
During his visit, the CISC interacted with student officers of the Indian Armed Forces, officers from friendly foreign countries and the permanent staff of DSSC.

In his address, Air Marshal Dixit highlighted the changing character of warfare and stressed the need for military leaders to adapt to emerging challenges and technologies.

He underlined the importance of jointness and inter-service synergy to effectively respond to evolving security dynamics, while also elaborating on ongoing transformative military reforms.
Role of Professional Military Education
The CISC was briefed by the Commandant of DSSC on ongoing training activities and commended the institution for its pivotal role in shaping future military leaders.
He emphasised that professional military education remains critical for enhancing operational preparedness and informed decision-making.
The visit reaffirmed the importance of integrated training, strategic thinking and joint capability development in strengthening India’s defence preparedness.
