Air Marshal Praveen Keshav Vohra, UYSM, AVSM, VM has assumed charge as the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Policy Planning & Force Development). The appointment marks an important step in strengthening joint planning, capability development, and policy coordination among the three services of the Indian Armed Forces.
Prior to taking over this appointment, Air Marshal Vohra held several key operational and staff assignments in the Indian Air Force during his distinguished career. Over the years, he has made significant contributions in areas such as operational planning, strategic policy formulation, and initiatives related to force development and modernisation within the armed forces.
In his new role at the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS), Air Marshal Vohra will play a crucial role in shaping policy planning and guiding long-term capability development for the Indian Armed Forces. The position is central to coordinating strategic initiatives that enhance jointness and interoperability among the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
His appointment is expected to further strengthen tri-services coordination and support the development of integrated defence policies. It will also contribute to advancing strategic planning frameworks and improving inter-service synergy in line with the broader vision of the Raksha Mantri for greater jointness and operational efficiency within the armed forces.
