In a significant tribute to the rich military heritage of the Indian Army, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, inaugurated Sudarshan Chowk and Konark Chowk at Pune Military Station.
The newly established chowks celebrate the legacy, valour, and fighting spirit of Southern Command’s distinguished formations—Konark Corps and Sudarshan Chakra Corps—which have played a pivotal role in safeguarding the nation.

These additions bring a distinct military character to a prominent precinct in Pune, a city known for its illustrious defence heritage. The chowks seamlessly blend history, culture, and symbolism, reflecting the ethos and operational excellence of formations that have long stood at the forefront of India’s security.
The initiative not only honours the proud traditions of the Indian Army but also serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and commitment of its soldiers.
