Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, visited the final assembly line of the Airbus C295 transport aircraft at Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) in Vadodara.
During the visit, Air Marshal Bharti reviewed progress on the first C-295 aircraft being manufactured in India under the government’s Make in India initiative, which is currently preparing for its maiden flight.

The C-295 programme is being executed through a partnership between Tata Advanced Systems Limited and Airbus and represents a major milestone in India’s indigenous aerospace manufacturing capability.
The project is regarded as a significant step towards strengthening Atmanirbhar Bharat in the aerospace and defence sector by building advanced aircraft manufacturing infrastructure and technological expertise within the country.

The visit highlighted the Indian Air Force’s continued support for indigenous defence production, technological self-reliance, and the expansion of India’s domestic aerospace ecosystem.
