Officer Cadets from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) visited the National Hydrographic Office (NHO) in Dehradun from May 15–16, 2026, as part of an educational exposure programme aimed at broadening their understanding of joint operational domains.
During the visit, the cadets were provided detailed insights into hydrography, nautical charting, and the critical role played by hydrographic operations in supporting maritime navigation, naval missions, and national security.

Officials briefed the cadets on the functioning of the National Hydrographic Office and its contribution towards safe navigation, maritime domain awareness, and operational planning for the Indian Navy.

The exposure programme helped the future Army officers gain a deeper understanding of the importance of maritime operations, inter-service cooperation, and specialised technical capabilities supporting defence operations.

The visit reflected the continued emphasis of the Armed Forces on jointmanship, professional military education, and cross-domain operational awareness among officer cadets.
