Equipped with modern computer systems and dedicated training resources, the laboratory is designed to enhance the digital competencies of AMC personnel who play a vital role in supporting military healthcare services. The facility will help personnel gain practical exposure to computer-based applications, digital record systems, online communication tools, and other technology-enabled processes increasingly used in contemporary medical and administrative environments.

The inauguration of the Computer Training Laboratory marks an important step towards building a more digitally skilled medical support workforce within the Army Medical Corps. As healthcare systems across the world continue to adopt digital platforms, the ability of paramedical staff to efficiently use information technology has become essential for improving coordination, documentation, patient care support, and overall operational efficiency.

Army Hospital (R&R), one of the premier medical institutions of the Indian Armed Forces, continues to serve as a centre of excellence in military healthcare, training, and medical innovation. The addition of this advanced training facility further strengthens its role in preparing personnel for the evolving demands of modern healthcare delivery.

The facility will benefit paramedical personnel posted in various military medical establishments across India by providing them structured training in digital tools and computer-based systems. This is expected to improve their professional confidence and enable them to perform their duties more effectively in both hospital and field environments.

The establishment of the laboratory is also aligned with the broader vision of modernising the Army Medical Corps through improved infrastructure, skill development, and greater adoption of technology. By investing in digital training, the AMC aims to ensure that its personnel remain prepared for the technological requirements of future military healthcare operations.

The inauguration by Lt Gen C.G. Muralidharan underlines the importance being given to capacity building within the medical services of the Indian Army. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the professional growth of AMC paramedical personnel and support the delivery of efficient, technology-enabled healthcare services to soldiers, veterans, and their families.
