The Advanced Gunnery Course conducted at the School of Artillery culminated on May 14, 2026, with officers from the Indian Army, friendly foreign countries, and the Border Security Force successfully completing the programme.
The 17-week course was designed to equip participants with advanced artillery and firepower management skills required for efficient employment as Battery Commanders during operational deployments.
Apart from Indian Army officers, the course was attended by seven officers from Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Malawi, along with one officer from the Border Security Force, reflecting continued international military cooperation and professional exchange.

Lieutenant General NS Sarna, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, Commandant of the School of Artillery, felicitated the award winners during the valedictory ceremony.
Captain Parul Yadav was adjudged First in the Order of Merit for outstanding overall performance in the course.

Major MASS Abeyrathne of the Sri Lanka Army was recognised as the Best Student among officers from friendly foreign countries.

The course highlighted the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on advanced artillery training, operational excellence, and defence cooperation with partner nations.
