The Advanced Data Processing Course (Record Officers) conducted at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) concluded on May 2, 2026, marking the successful completion of a specialised training programme aimed at enhancing digital record management capabilities within the Indian Army.
The course equipped participating officers with comprehensive knowledge in key areas such as Record Office Automation Software, basic cybersecurity, networking, database management, and analytical systems. The training was designed to enable efficient, secure, and accurate handling of records in an increasingly digital and data-driven military environment.

Brigadier Santosh Kumar Rana, Commander FCTS & IT Wing at MCTE, presided over the closing ceremony and felicitated the graduating officers. He emphasised the growing importance of technological proficiency in modern military administration and highlighted the role of data-driven systems in improving operational efficiency.
Lt Col Balwan Singh of Armoured Corps Records was awarded the prestigious Commandant’s Gold Medal for securing first position in the Order of Merit, reflecting outstanding performance throughout the course.
The programme underscores the Indian Army’s continued focus on modernisation and digital transformation, ensuring that its personnel are equipped with advanced technical skills to meet contemporary administrative and operational challenges.
