Lieutenant (Dr) Biva Samadder, Professor at Surendranath College and Associate NCC Officer of 2 Bengal Battalion NCC, was promoted to the rank of Captain during a ceremonial pipping ceremony conducted by the Additional Director General of the National Cadet Corps West Bengal and Sikkim Directorate.
A former NCC cadet herself, Capt Biva Samadder has earned multiple distinctions over the years, including being a two-time recipient of the Governor’s Medal and the prestigious Governor’s Scroll of Honour.

She has also been recognised four times as the Best Associate NCC Officer, reflecting her sustained contribution towards cadet training, leadership development, and youth motivation.
Known for her dedication and commitment to nation-building, Capt Samadder has played an important role in inspiring young cadets to pursue careers in the Armed Forces and serve the nation with pride.

The promotion ceremony marked another milestone in her distinguished NCC journey and highlighted the continued efforts of the NCC Directorate in recognising excellence and leadership among its officers.
