Lieutenant General CG Muralidharan, Director General Medical Services (Army) and Colonel Commandant of the Army Medical Corps (AMC), visited Military Hospital Gangtok on May 17, 2026, to review healthcare infrastructure and operational medical preparedness in the strategically important East Sikkim region.
During the visit, the General Officer reviewed the progress of the upcoming new hospital project aimed at strengthening medical facilities and healthcare support for troops and beneficiaries in the region.

Lt Gen Muralidharan also assessed operational preparedness, logistics support, and the overall healthcare delivery mechanisms being maintained by the hospital under challenging terrain and operational conditions.

The DGMS Army commended the unit for its professional excellence, compassionate patient care, and steadfast commitment towards delivering effective combat medical support.

The visit highlighted the continued focus of the Indian Army and the Army Medical Corps on enhancing medical infrastructure, operational readiness, and quality healthcare services in forward and strategically significant areas.
