Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, General Officer Commanding of the Spear Corps, visited Assam Rifles formations at Lekhapani in Arunachal Pradesh and Tuensang in Nagaland to review operational preparedness and ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in the region.
During the visit, the GOC was briefed on the prevailing security situation, operational deployment, and measures being undertaken to maintain peace and stability in sensitive border and insurgency-affected areas.

Lt Gen Kalia interacted with troops deployed in the region and commended them for their professionalism, dedication, and steadfast commitment while operating in challenging terrain and complex operational environments.
He also appreciated the significant contribution of the Assam Rifles towards maintaining peace, ensuring border security, and supporting stability and development initiatives across the Northeast.

The visit underscored the continued focus of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles on operational readiness, counter-insurgency effectiveness, and coordinated security efforts in the strategically important northeastern region.
