Lieutenant General Pushpendra Pal Singh, GOC-in-C of the Western Command and the seniormost serving Special Forces officer of the Indian Armed Forces, engaged with senior leadership of United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) during SOF Week 2026 held in Tampa, Florida from May 18 to 21, 2026.

The Indian delegation also interacted with leadership from multiple US Theatre Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), including SOCCENT, SOCPAC, and SOCAFRICA, focusing on operational cooperation, strategic engagement, and evolving special operations capabilities.

The discussions reflected the growing strategic convergence and defence cooperation between India and the United States under the India-US Strategic Defence Partnership Framework signed in October 2025.

The engagements highlighted the increasing emphasis on jointness, interoperability, information exchange, and collaboration in the domain of special operations and emerging security challenges.
SOF Week 2026 brought together military leaders, defence professionals, and special operations experts from across the world to discuss innovation, strategic security, and future warfare capabilities.
