Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of the Assam Rifles, visited the Wular Battalion of Assam Rifles at Paribal in Jammu and Kashmir to review operational preparedness and security measures in the region.
During the visit, the Director General was briefed by the Battalion Commandant on the prevailing security environment, operational readiness, and ongoing initiatives being undertaken by the unit.

Lt Gen Lakhera also interacted with officers and troops, appreciating their professionalism, dedication, and commitment while operating in challenging conditions. He visited the Battalion Drone Lab and the Malangam Company Operating Base (COB), where he reviewed technological initiatives and operational deployments aimed at strengthening surveillance and response capabilities.

Commending all ranks for their high standards of operational readiness and unwavering commitment, the Director General highlighted the importance of vigilance, innovation, and teamwork in maintaining peace and security in the region.

The visit underscored the Assam Rifles’ continued focus on operational effectiveness, technology integration, and sustained counter-insurgency preparedness in sensitive areas.
