Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, visited the forward areas of Poonch and the Headquarters of Romeo Force to review the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on sustained domination activities being carried out across the Pir Panjal Range, the functioning of the intelligence network, and coordination mechanisms among various security agencies to maintain operational effectiveness.

Lt Gen Sharma also reviewed the security arrangements put in place by Rashtriya Rifles battalions for the annual migration of the Gujjar-Bakarwal community through sensitive areas in the region.

Interacting with troops deployed in forward locations, the Northern Army Commander appreciated their professionalism, operational preparedness, and unwavering commitment in maintaining domination over difficult terrain despite challenging weather conditions.

The visit highlighted the Indian Army’s continued focus on counter-terrorism preparedness, intelligence-based operations, and ensuring security and stability in the Pir Panjal region.
