A total of 1,522 Agniveers were formally attested at the Mechanised Infantry Centre & School (MIC&S), Ahilyanagar, on 20 June 2026 following the successful completion of 24 weeks of rigorous military training.
The Attestation Parade marked a significant milestone in the journey of the young recruits as they took the solemn oath of service and officially joined the ranks of the Indian Army.
The parade was reviewed by the Commandant, Mechanised Infantry Centre & School, who congratulated the Agniveers on successfully completing their training and transforming into disciplined, motivated and combat-ready soldiers.

During the ceremony, the newly attested soldiers pledged to uphold the values, traditions and ethos of the Indian Army and the Mechanised Infantry Regiment. The occasion reflected the culmination of months of intensive training focused on military skills, physical fitness, discipline, leadership and operational preparedness.
A special highlight of the event was the presentation of the “Gaurav Padak” to proud parents in recognition of their contribution to nation-building and their support in encouraging their children to serve the nation. The gesture acknowledged the vital role families play in shaping the character and values of future soldiers.

Over the course of their training, the Agniveers were equipped with the professional skills and military knowledge required to meet the challenges of modern warfare while maintaining the highest standards of discipline and soldierly conduct.
Senior officers commended the recruits for their dedication, perseverance and commitment throughout the training period and encouraged them to serve with honour, courage and integrity.

The Attestation Parade reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to developing a capable, disciplined and future-ready force, prepared to safeguard the nation’s security and uphold the proud legacy of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment.
As they embark on their military careers, the 1,522 newly attested Agniveers carry forward the spirit of duty, sacrifice and service that defines the Indian Army.
