Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), presided over the South Western Air Command (SWAC) Commanders’ Conference at Gandhinagar, where senior commanders reviewed operational preparedness, capability enhancement initiatives and future challenges facing the Indian Air Force.
During the conference, the Air Chief commended South Western Air Command for its high standards of operational readiness, infrastructure development and innovative initiatives aimed at strengthening combat capability and mission effectiveness.
Addressing the commanders, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh underscored the importance of rigorous training, professional discipline and aerospace safety as key pillars of operational excellence. He emphasised the need for continuous skill development and adherence to the highest safety standards to maintain combat readiness across all domains.
The Chief of the Air Staff also highlighted the growing significance of emerging warfighting technologies and stressed the importance of integrating advanced systems and technological innovations into operational planning and execution. He noted that adapting to evolving threats and leveraging modern technologies would be critical in meeting future security challenges.

As part of the event, the CAS released the Exercise Vayushakti video and a commemorative coffee table book, showcasing the Indian Air Force’s operational capabilities, achievements and commitment to excellence.
The conference also witnessed the presentation of trophies and awards to units and formations that demonstrated exceptional performance and operational excellence, recognising their dedication and contribution to the IAF’s mission objectives.
The South Western Air Command plays a crucial role in safeguarding India’s western airspace and maintaining a high state of readiness across a strategically important operational theatre.
The conference provided an important platform for reviewing ongoing initiatives, exchanging best practices and reinforcing the Indian Air Force’s commitment to operational excellence, technological advancement and preparedness for future challenges.
