Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), visited the Naval Hydrographic Office in Dehradun, where she was briefed on the institution’s rich heritage, strategic significance and wide-ranging responsibilities in support of India’s maritime interests.
During the visit, officials provided an overview of the Naval Hydrographic Office’s pivotal role in hydrographic surveying, nautical chart production, maritime navigation safety and operational support to the Indian Navy. The institution remains a key pillar in ensuring safe navigation and supporting maritime operations across India’s vast maritime domain.

A major highlight of the visit was Surg Vice Admiral Sarin’s interaction with Naval Veterans, during which she acknowledged their invaluable contributions to the nation and the Armed Forces. She expressed appreciation for their dedicated service and the enduring legacy they have helped build within the Indian Navy.
The DGAFMS also commended the Naval Hydrographic Office for its unwavering commitment to excellence, professionalism and service. She lauded the institution’s continued efforts in supporting maritime operations, enhancing navigational safety and safeguarding national maritime interests.
