Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi visited the headquarters of Northern Command to review its operational preparedness, capability development initiatives and ongoing modernization efforts aimed at strengthening the Indian Army’s combat effectiveness.
During the visit, the Army Chief was briefed on the Command’s readiness across the full spectrum of operations, including the conduct of Multi-Domain Operations, technology absorption initiatives, infrastructure development and integrated combat preparedness in strategically important sectors.

The briefing highlighted various measures being undertaken to enhance operational capabilities through the integration of advanced technologies, improved infrastructure and joint operational planning in response to evolving security challenges.
General Dwivedi also interacted with officers of Headquarters Northern Command and Formation Headquarters through a hybrid format. During the interaction, he underscored the importance of harnessing emerging technologies, fostering innovation and adapting to changing battlefield dynamics to enhance operational effectiveness in an increasingly complex security environment.

The Army Chief emphasized the need for continued focus on capability enhancement, technological transformation and operational agility to ensure that the force remains prepared for future challenges.
