Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command, visited the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot (MINTSD) in Pune on June 4, 2026, to review the institution’s training initiatives and infrastructure development.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed by Lieutenant General Devinder Pal Singh, AVSM, SM, Commandant of MINTSD, on ongoing efforts to modernise training methodologies, enhance infrastructure and strengthen intelligence education for future operational requirements.
Lt Gen Sharma commended the institution for its progressive absorption of advanced technologies and its pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge intelligence training to officers and soldiers of the Indian Army. He highlighted the importance of adapting intelligence training to meet emerging security challenges and the evolving character of modern warfare.
The Army Commander also appreciated the institution’s contribution to building future-ready intelligence professionals capable of operating effectively in increasingly technology-driven and multi-domain operational environments.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma presented GOC-in-C Commendation Cards to selected personnel in recognition of their outstanding contributions to training excellence and professional development within the institution.
In a special ceremony, the Army Commander also honoured Intelligence Corps veterans Colonel Ripu Daman Singh (Retd) and Naib Subedar (Dr) Saravanan P (Retd) with the Veteran Achievers Medal and Certificate of Appreciation for their dedicated efforts towards the welfare of veterans and their continued service to the military community.
The visit underscored ARTRAC’s commitment to strengthening military education, embracing technological innovation and recognising excellence among serving personnel and veterans alike.
Officials noted that MINTSD continues to play a crucial role in preparing intelligence professionals for contemporary and future battlefield challenges while fostering a culture of innovation, professionalism and operational excellence within the Indian Army.
