The Young Officers Course conducted at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, culminated on June 1, 2026, marking the successful completion of training for a new generation of military leaders prepared to meet the technological and operational demands of modern warfare.
The course was attended by officers of the Indian Army along with officers from friendly foreign countries, including Cameroon, Mongolia, Namibia, Kyrgyzstan, Lesotho, Ivory Coast and Eswatini.

The Award Presentation Ceremony was presided over by Lieutenant General Ulhas Kirpekar, AVSM, SM, Director General Financial Planning and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals.
During the ceremony, Lt Gen Kirpekar felicitated the award winners and commended the young officers for their professionalism, dedication and commitment to excellence. He emphasised the importance of technological competence, adaptability and operational preparedness in the era of multi-domain warfare.
The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of Lieutenant Yash Vardhan, who was awarded the prestigious Plaque of Honour and the Thru Medal for securing First Position in the Overall Order of Merit.

The course focused on equipping young officers with advanced knowledge and skills in communications, information systems and emerging technologies that are increasingly shaping modern battlefields.
Officials noted that the participation of officers from friendly foreign countries not only enhanced professional learning but also strengthened military-to-military cooperation and interoperability between India and partner nations.
The successful conclusion of the course underscores MCTE’s role as a premier centre of excellence in military communications and technology training, preparing future leaders to operate effectively in an increasingly complex and technology-driven security environment.
