Challenging Himalayan Treks Test Cadets’ Endurance

During the camp, participants undertook demanding treks across several Himalayan routes, including Dumher, Mata Tara Devi, Wakna, Bahra and Karol Tibba.

The challenging trails required cadets to display physical stamina, resilience, adaptability and teamwork. They were also required to make decisions and support one another while operating in difficult terrain and changing weather conditions.

The trekking activities were designed not merely as physical exercises but as opportunities to develop confidence, leadership qualities and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Sessions on Defence Careers, Self-Defence and Social Awareness

Alongside the adventure activities, HIMTREK 2026 included educational and awareness sessions aimed at broadening the cadets’ intellectual and social outlook.

The participants attended expert sessions on career opportunities in the defence services, self-defence techniques and organ donation awareness. They also took part in brainstorming exercises, quizzes, cultural competitions and group activities.

These programmes encouraged cadets to think creatively, communicate effectively and engage with participants from different regions of the country, strengthening the spirit of national integration.

RMS Dholpur Cadets Win Multiple Medals

The RMS Dholpur contingent represented the 6 Raj (I) Coy NCC, Bharatpur, and was accompanied by Second Officer Shivani Dalal.

The girl cadets delivered an outstanding performance across individual and team events.

Cadet Akshara secured the Best Idea Medal and won first position in the videography competition. She also received a Participation Medal in Self-Defence and a Diary Award.

Cadets Sakshi Yadav and Nokha were awarded Best Idea Medals and also contributed to the team that secured victory in the Group Dance competition.

In a remarkable achievement, the girl cadets of RMS Dholpur secured nine of the eleven medals won by their NCC company during the camp. Their performance highlighted their preparation, discipline, creativity and competitive spirit.

Experiential Learning at RMS Dholpur

The achievements at HIMTREK 2026 reflect RMS Dholpur’s sustained focus on experiential learning and leadership development.

The school integrates leadership training into NCC activities, adventure programmes, sports, community outreach initiatives, environmental awareness campaigns, institutional responsibilities and collaborative learning.

Such opportunities complement classroom education by helping cadets develop confidence, empathy, communication skills, emotional resilience and a strong sense of responsibility.

The school’s educational approach seeks to prepare cadets not only for academic success but also for future challenges requiring courage, competence and service before self.

Growing Opportunities for Girl Cadets

The induction of girl cadets into Rashtriya Military Schools has created significant opportunities for young women aspiring to serve the nation.

Through exposure to NCC training, adventure camps, military traditions, leadership responsibilities and disciplined residential education, girl cadets are being prepared for careers in the Armed Forces and other demanding leadership roles.

Their participation in camps such as HIMTREK also provides them with opportunities to test their abilities, overcome physical and mental challenges and build lasting bonds with cadets from different parts of India.

Commitment to Nation Building

RMS Dholpur continues to invest in modern infrastructure, quality mentoring, adventure education, sports facilities and leadership opportunities for its cadets.

The success of its girl cadets at HIMTREK 2026 demonstrates that meaningful education extends beyond classrooms and textbooks. It involves developing the confidence to face challenges, the compassion to support others and the courage to take responsibility.

Through their medal-winning performances, participation in demanding Himalayan treks and contribution to cultural and educational activities, the RMS Dholpur girl cadets exemplified the values of discipline, teamwork and nation building.

Their achievements reflect an institutional culture that empowers every learner to lead with courage, competence and compassion while remaining firmly committed to the service of the nation.
