Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, PVSM, AVSM, Chief of the Air Staff, accompanied by Mrs Sarita Singh, visited the Kargil War Memorial at Dras on 4 July 2026 to pay homage to the heroes of the Kargil War.
In a solemn ceremony, the Air Chief laid a wreath at the memorial in honour of the Bravehearts of Operation Vijay, paying tribute to their indomitable courage, unwavering fortitude and supreme sacrifice in defence of the nation.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Air Force’s enduring respect for the gallantry and selfless service of the soldiers who fought during the 1999 Kargil conflict and underscored the Armed Forces’ continued commitment to preserving their legacy of courage and patriotism.
