Assam Rifles has facilitated the successful culmination of its Skill Development Programme 6.0 in Imphal, marking another important step towards empowering local youth through vocational training and employment-oriented initiatives.
The programme concluded during a felicitation ceremony held at Bamon Awang Leikai in Imphal East district. The initiative was conducted as part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing civic action efforts in the Imphal Valley and was organised in collaboration with We Care Skill Solutions.
The twelve-week training module focused on hospitality and retail, two sectors that offer strong employment opportunities for young aspirants. Through structured vocational training, the programme aimed to improve the employability of local youth and help them secure respectable livelihood opportunities outside and within the region.
A total of 44 young participants successfully completed the programme. The batch included 19 boys and 25 girls, reflecting the inclusive nature of the initiative and its focus on providing equal opportunities to youth from the region.

During the ceremony, the successful candidates were awarded certificates from the National Skill Development Corporation. They also received formal employment offer letters, marking their transition from training to professional careers.
The newly trained candidates have secured placements at reputed establishments across the country. These include Altruist Hotel in Bengaluru, Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, Aayush Resort in Pune, Zone by Park in Chennai and Sunday Hotel in Gurugram.
Senior officials and troops present at the event congratulated the candidates for their dedication and hard work throughout the training period. They encouraged the youth to perform with professionalism in their new roles and to represent Manipur with pride wherever they serve.
The participants were also urged to act as brand ambassadors of Manipur’s rich culture and heritage as they prepare to move to their respective places of employment. The initiative not only provides jobs but also creates a bridge between the youth of Manipur and opportunities in different parts of the country.
This programme marks the sixth successful training iteration conducted by Assam Rifles since June 2024. Over the course of these initiatives, nearly 400 youths from the region have been enabled to secure gainful employment.
The success of Skill Development Programme 6.0 highlights Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to youth empowerment, social development and community outreach in Manipur. By combining skill training with direct employment support, the initiative has created a practical pathway for young people to build stable careers and contribute meaningfully to their families and society.
The programme also reinforces the role of Assam Rifles beyond security duties, showcasing its contribution to peace-building, confidence-building and socio-economic development in the North East.
