During his visit to the Trishakti Corps on July 14 and 15, 2026, the Army Chief was briefed extensively on the prevailing operational situation in the Eastern Command. General Dhiraj Seth also reviewed initiatives related to technology absorption, capability enhancement and force modernisation aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness across the formation. The Indian Army continues to prioritise the integration of advanced technologies into its operational framework as part of its broader transformation agenda, ensuring that frontline formations remain prepared to address both present and emerging security challenges.

On July 15, the COAS visited Bengdubi Military Station, where he reviewed the prevailing regional security arrangements and assessed the operational logistics capabilities supporting military deployments in the area. Robust logistical systems remain central to sustaining military operations and ensuring seamless force projection across strategically important theatres. The review highlighted the Army’s continued emphasis on maintaining resilient and responsive logistical support mechanisms that complement frontline operational capabilities.

General Dhiraj Seth subsequently visited the Spear Corps, where he evaluated the formation’s operational preparedness and ongoing initiatives aimed at further strengthening combat capabilities. He was briefed on the evolving operational environment, inter-agency coordination mechanisms and measures being undertaken to enhance mission readiness and operational responsiveness across the Northeastern region.

The Army Chief also reviewed community outreach initiatives undertaken by the Spear Corps to promote peace, stability and socio-economic development across the Northeast. Such programmes form an integral component of the Indian Army’s people-centric approach towards fostering trust and cooperation with local communities while contributing meaningfully to nation-building efforts in remote and strategically important regions.

Interacting with commanders and troops deployed across the formations, General Dhiraj Seth outlined his vision of “VIJAY” for the Indian Army—a transformative framework founded on the principles of Vigilance, Innovation, Jointness, Atmanirbharta and Yodha First. The vision reflects the Army’s commitment to developing a technologically advanced, operationally integrated and personnel-centric force capable of addressing the challenges of contemporary and future warfare.

The Army Chief emphasised that sustained vigilance remains indispensable in preserving operational superiority and ensuring preparedness against emerging threats. He highlighted innovation as a key driver of military transformation, enabling the Indian Army to effectively integrate cutting-edge technologies and adaptive operational concepts into its warfighting capabilities.

General Dhiraj Seth also stressed the growing importance of jointness among the Armed Forces and inter-agency collaboration in responding effectively to multidimensional security challenges. He observed that seamless coordination and integrated operational approaches will remain fundamental to military success in an increasingly complex strategic environment.

Underscoring the significance of Atmanirbharta in defence preparedness, the COAS reiterated the importance of strengthening indigenous capabilities through technological innovation, modernisation initiatives and self-reliance in critical military systems. The continued emphasis on indigenous capability development remains aligned with the national vision of building a robust and future-ready defence ecosystem.

The principle of “Yodha First,” he noted, places the soldier at the centre of the Army’s transformation journey by prioritising operational effectiveness, leadership development, welfare and professional excellence. Investing in the capabilities and well-being of personnel remains central to sustaining the Indian Army’s enduring combat effectiveness across all operational domains.

General Dhiraj Seth emphasised that the principles embodied in the VIJAY vision will enable the Indian Army to remain agile, adaptive and future-ready while contributing significantly towards the national objective of achieving the Viksit Bharat Vision 2047. He reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to continuously evolving its capabilities in response to emerging operational requirements and technological advancements.

The COAS commended all ranks for their unwavering professionalism, exceptionally high morale and operational excellence while serving under challenging conditions. He acknowledged their steadfast dedication towards safeguarding national security and appreciated their sustained commitment to maintaining the highest standards of military preparedness and discipline.

The Eastern Command visit reflects the Indian Army’s continued focus on operational excellence, technological transformation and institutional modernisation. Guided by the vision of VIJAY, the Army remains committed to building an integrated, self-reliant and future-ready force capable of effectively securing India’s national interests while meeting the demands of an increasingly dynamic global security landscape.
