Air Marshal Tarun Chaudhry, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Central Air Command, accompanied by Mrs Savita Chaudhry, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional), visited Air Force Station Gorakhpur from August 11 to 13, 2026, to review the station’s operational preparedness and ongoing capability development.
During the visit, Air Marshal Tarun Chaudhry reviewed the operational readiness of the station and took stock of its infrastructure and training facilities. The assessment focused on the preparedness of the station to effectively undertake assigned operational responsibilities and maintain high standards of combat readiness.

The AOC-in-C also interacted with Air Warriors, Non-Combatants (Enrolled) and defence civilians posted at the station. He appreciated their high morale, professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment to the Indian Air Force.
As part of the visit, Air Marshal Tarun Chaudhry actively participated in air operations by flying the Jaguar aircraft. His participation provided an opportunity to engage directly with operational activities and further assess the preparedness and effectiveness of personnel involved in flying operations.

The visit highlighted the importance of maintaining operational readiness, continuous training and professional excellence across all levels of the station. The AOC-in-C’s interaction with personnel also reinforced the importance of commitment and teamwork in meeting the operational requirements of the Indian Air Force.
During the visit, Mrs Savita Chaudhry reviewed various welfare initiatives being undertaken at Air Force Station Gorakhpur. She interacted with the Sanginis and appreciated their contribution towards the welfare and overall functioning of the Air Force community.

The visit by the Central Air Command leadership underscored the continued emphasis on operational preparedness, infrastructure development, training standards and personnel welfare, while reinforcing the IAF’s commitment to maintaining a high state of readiness.
