Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh, AVSM, SM**, Army Commander, Western Command, visited the Tiger Division of Rising Star Corps to conduct a comprehensive review of its operational preparedness and assess the formation’s ability to respond swiftly and decisively to emerging contingencies.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the formation’s operational readiness and preparedness across the spectrum of military operations. He reviewed measures undertaken to maintain high levels of combat effectiveness and assessed the formation’s agility and response capabilities in the face of evolving operational challenges.

Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh emphasised the importance of sustained combat readiness, adaptability and mission effectiveness. He stressed that formations must remain prepared to respond to emerging contingencies while maintaining high standards of training, operational discipline and battlefield preparedness.
The Army Commander also highlighted the need for formations to continuously evolve in response to changes in the contemporary operational environment. He underscored the importance of developing flexible capabilities that can enable troops to operate effectively across diverse and rapidly changing operational scenarios.
A key highlight of the visit was an innovation display showcasing indigenous and field-optimised solutions conceptualised by troops of the formation. The innovations were developed to address contemporary operational challenges and improve the effectiveness of soldiers deployed in demanding conditions.

The display demonstrated the resourcefulness and ingenuity of Indian Army personnel in identifying operational challenges and developing practical solutions using indigenous technologies and in-house expertise. Several solutions were focused on improving battlefield efficiency and strengthening operational capabilities.
The Army Commander appreciated the initiative and recognised the efforts of troops in leveraging technology and innovation to address operational requirements. Such troop-driven innovations reflect the Indian Army’s growing emphasis on harnessing battlefield experience and technological solutions to enhance combat capability.
The initiative also reinforces the ethos of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by encouraging indigenous solutions and reducing dependence on externally sourced capabilities wherever feasible. The emphasis on field-level innovation enables soldiers to directly contribute towards capability development based on their operational experience.

Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh commended the formation for maintaining high standards of operational preparedness and for promoting a culture of innovation among its personnel. He encouraged continued efforts towards technology absorption, adaptability and capability enhancement.
The visit reaffirmed Western Command’s focus on maintaining combat-ready formations capable of responding effectively to emerging security challenges while simultaneously encouraging indigenous innovation to strengthen battlefield effectiveness and future operational preparedness.
