New Batch of Military Nursing Service Officers Commissioned at Command Hospital Lucknow

A new batch of Military Nursing Service (MNS) officers was commissioned into the Armed Forces Medical Services during the Commissioning Ceremony-2026 held at the College of Nursing, Command Hospital (Central Command), Lucknow, marking an important milestone in strengthening the military healthcare system.

The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General J. Debnath, Commandant, Army Medical Corps (AMC) Centre and College, who congratulated the newly commissioned officers on the successful completion of their military and professional nursing training. He commended their dedication, perseverance and commitment to joining one of the most respected branches of the Armed Forces Medical Services.

During the ceremony, the newly commissioned officers took the Professional Oath, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence, compassionate patient care and selfless service to the nation. The oath symbolised their transition from trainees to commissioned officers entrusted with providing quality healthcare to serving personnel, veterans and their families.

Addressing the newly commissioned officers, Lt Gen Debnath emphasised the vital role of the Military Nursing Service in supporting the operational effectiveness of the Armed Forces. He highlighted that military nurses serve not only in hospitals and healthcare institutions but also in operational areas, field hospitals, disaster relief missions and other challenging environments where professional competence and dedication are essential.

The ceremony celebrated the successful culmination of rigorous military and nursing education designed to prepare the officers for the unique demands of military healthcare. Their training equipped them with advanced clinical knowledge, leadership skills and the ability to deliver medical care under diverse operational conditions.

The event also highlighted the indispensable contribution of the Military Nursing Service in enhancing the healthcare capabilities of the Armed Forces. MNS officers play a crucial role in ensuring high standards of patient care while supporting operational readiness through professional medical services across peace and conflict environments.

The commissioning ceremony reaffirmed the Indian Armed Forces’ continued commitment to developing highly skilled and dedicated healthcare professionals capable of meeting evolving medical and operational challenges.
