Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth visited Sainik School Ghorakhal on August 18, 2026, and inaugurated the institution’s new girls’ hostel, ‘Bachendri’, marking an important step towards strengthening residential infrastructure and providing equal opportunities to girl cadets.
The Raksha Rajya Mantri was received by the Principal, Group Captain Madhu Sengar, Vice Principal Commander Archana Choudhary and Administrative Officer Major Ajay Singh Pawar. During his visit, he laid a wreath and was presented a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the cadets.

The inauguration of the ‘Bachendri’ Girls’ Hostel was the key highlight of the visit. The new facility is aimed at providing improved residential infrastructure for girl cadets and supporting their growing participation in military-oriented education and training.
Following the inauguration, Sanjay Seth interacted with the cadets and joined them for a group photograph and lunch at the Cadets’ Mess. The informal interaction provided the young cadets an opportunity to share their experiences and engage directly with the Raksha Rajya Mantri.

Addressing the cadets, Sanjay Seth congratulated Sainik School Ghorakhal for its excellent results in the National Defence Academy (NDA) examinations. He also appreciated the school’s infrastructure, training facilities and its continued focus on academic excellence, discipline, character building and leadership development.
The Raksha Rajya Mantri described the new girls’ hostel as a symbol of women’s empowerment and equal opportunities, calling its inauguration the beginning of a new era for the institution.
He encouraged the cadets to develop a strong understanding of India’s history by reading authentic sources and to remain informed about developments around them. He urged them to prepare themselves to serve the nation with dedication, responsibility and a strong sense of purpose.

The visit highlighted the government’s continued emphasis on creating better educational and residential facilities for girl cadets while encouraging greater participation of young women in opportunities linked to national service and defence.
The inauguration of ‘Bachendri’ represents another milestone in Sainik School Ghorakhal’s efforts to provide an inclusive environment that combines education, discipline, leadership development and preparation for future service to the nation.
