A 155-km high-altitude trekking expedition from Ghastoli to Ghamsali was flagged off by Maj Gen Amaresh Gunjan, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Golden Key Division, marking the beginning of a demanding journey through the rugged Himalayan terrain of Uttarakhand.
Carrying the message of “Resolve to Conquer,” the expedition is designed to test the physical endurance, mental resilience, teamwork and determination of its participants as they negotiate difficult terrain and challenging high-altitude conditions.
The expedition draws inspiration from the Sanskrit maxim, “उद्यमेन हि सिद्ध्यन्ति कार्याणि न मनोरथैः,” which conveys that success is achieved through determined effort rather than mere aspirations. The principle reflects the central ethos of the trek, where sustained effort, perseverance and collective resolve will be critical to overcoming the challenges of the route.
Traversing the pristine Himalayan landscape, the 155-km expedition is also intended to celebrate the rich heritage and culture of Uttarakhand while highlighting the indomitable spirit associated with its mountainous communities and terrain.
