Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VM, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC), visited the Indian Army’s Vajra Corps and interacted with senior military officers, underscoring the growing emphasis on jointness and integrated operations among the Armed Forces.
During the visit, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh held discussions with senior officers on the prevailing operational environment, joint preparedness and the evolving dynamics of Army–Air Force operations.
The interaction focused on strengthening coordination and interoperability between the two services to ensure a faster and more synergised response to emerging operational challenges. Discussions also highlighted the importance of integrating capabilities and planning mechanisms to enhance effectiveness during joint operations.
The visit comes amid a sustained push within the Indian Armed Forces towards greater jointmanship, with the Army, Navy and Air Force increasingly focusing on integrated planning, training and operational preparedness.
Air Marshal Tejinder Singh’s interaction with the Vajra Corps leadership reaffirmed the importance of maintaining a high level of operational readiness while ensuring that different elements of the Armed Forces are capable of operating seamlessly together.
The visit also highlighted the role of continuous interaction between senior commanders in understanding the changing operational environment and aligning capabilities for future contingencies.
The underlying message of the engagement was centred on “One Mission, Joint Resolve, Integrated Strength,” reflecting the Armed Forces’ emphasis on coordinated planning and execution to meet emerging security challenges.
Vajra Corps, also known as XI Corps, is a strategically important formation of the Indian Army and operates under the Western Command. Its location and operational responsibilities make close coordination between land and air elements particularly significant for maintaining readiness along India’s western front.
