Captain JK Vasudeva assumed charge as the Commanding Officer of INS Zamorin at Ezhimala, Kerala, during an impressive ceremonial parade, marking the beginning of his tenure at the naval establishment.
An Underwater Warfare specialist, Capt Vasudeva brings extensive operational and command experience to his new appointment. During his naval career, he has commanded several important platforms and units, including INFAC T84, INS Kozhikode and INS Saryu.
His previous operational appointments also include serving as Executive Officer (EXO) onboard INS Vinash and INS Ranvijay. These assignments provided him with experience in the operational functioning of different naval platforms and contributed to his professional exposure across the Indian Navy’s operational environment.
Beyond sea-going appointments, Capt Vasudeva has held several key staff and training-related positions. His appointments have included tenures at Headquarters Eastern Fleet, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS), INS Chilka and the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington.
The combination of operational command, shipboard responsibilities and staff appointments forms a significant part of the professional experience associated with his new role as Commanding Officer of INS Zamorin.
