A new child day care facility named ‘Cuddles’ has been inaugurated at Dolphin Hill in Visakhapatnam as part of the Eastern Naval Command’s efforts to strengthen welfare support for naval personnel and their families.
The facility was inaugurated by Mrs Priya Bhalla, President of the Navy Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA), Eastern Region, in the presence of Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C), Eastern Naval Command.
Designed as a safe and welcoming environment for children, ‘Cuddles’ features dedicated areas for play, learning and recreational activities. The facility is intended to provide dependable child care support to naval families, particularly parents managing professional responsibilities alongside family commitments.
The day care centre has been developed with an emphasis on providing children with an environment where they can participate in age-appropriate learning, play and recreational activities while their parents attend to their professional duties.
For serving personnel and their spouses, access to reliable child care can play an important role in balancing demanding work schedules with parenting responsibilities. The facility is therefore expected to provide additional support to families residing in and around the naval residential area at Dolphin Hill.
The inauguration of ‘Cuddles’ forms part of the Eastern Naval Command’s broader focus on improving quality of life and strengthening family welfare infrastructure for naval personnel.
The Navy Welfare and Wellness Association also plays an important role in supporting naval families through initiatives related to welfare, education, community engagement and family support.
The new facility reflects the Eastern Naval Command’s emphasis on creating a supportive environment for personnel and their families while recognising the importance of family welfare in sustaining the well-being of the naval community.
Through ‘Cuddles’, the Command aims to provide parents with greater support in balancing service commitments and family responsibilities while ensuring children have access to a secure and engaging day care environment.
