Lieutenant General Balakrishnan Jayan, Director General Dental Services (DGDS) and Colonel Commandant of the Army Dental Corps, visited CMDC (SWC) to review oral healthcare delivery and the operational preparedness of dental services supporting troops.
During the visit, the General Officer assessed the capability of the Army Dental Corps to provide agile, advanced and responsive dental support across the complete operational spectrum, ranging from peacetime requirements to conflict situations.
The review highlighted the importance of dental fitness as an integral component of overall troop health and operational readiness. Effective oral healthcare contributes to maintaining personnel fitness, combat effectiveness and the ability of formations to sustain demanding military operations.
Lt Gen Jayan also interacted with Lieutenant General Mohit Malhotra, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command. The senior officers discussed measures to further strengthen dental support for troops through technological advancement and operational modernisation.
The discussions focused on preparing military dental services to meet evolving battlefield requirements while ensuring that personnel deployed across different operational environments have access to timely and effective dental care.
