The Additional Director General (ADG), NCC Directorate West Bengal and Sikkim, visited the outdoor camp of 49 Bengal Battalion NCC at Kalyani, where NCC cadets presented a Guard of Honour.
During the visit, the ADG reviewed the preparations being undertaken for Republic Day, including Sword Drill, PM Rally and Flag Area designs. The preparations formed part of the intensive training being undertaken by the cadets ahead of the Republic Day activities.

The ADG also interacted with cadets competing in the Cultural and Best Cadet categories and motivated them during the ongoing preparations and competitions.
As part of the visit, the ADG witnessed a lecture and disaster management demonstration conducted by a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The demonstration provided the cadets an opportunity to witness disaster management activities by the NDRF team.

The ADG also visited the cadet lines and complimented the Officiating Commanding Officer and his team for their dedicated efforts towards quality training and cadet welfare.
Interacting with the cadets, the ADG encouraged them to uphold high standards of discipline, courage and leadership. He emphasised the values associated with the NCC and urged the cadets to embody the spirit of “Unity and Discipline.”

The visit brought together various aspects of NCC training, including Republic Day preparations, competitive activities, cadet welfare and exposure to disaster management demonstrations. The interaction also provided an opportunity for the ADG to review the efforts being made by the unit towards training and development of its cadets.
