Air Force Station Bhuj marked the 94th Air Force Day 2026 celebrations by welcoming Veer Naris, Veeranganas and the brave women of Madhapar, who shared first-hand accounts of the runway restoration during the 1971 Indo-Pak War.
The interaction provided an opportunity to remember the contribution and sacrifices associated with the 1971 war. The women of Madhapar shared their first-hand accounts of the effort to restore the runway in just 72 hours.

The occasion brought together Air Force personnel and members of the community associated with the wartime effort, highlighting the bond between the Indian Air Force and those who contributed during the conflict.
The participation of Veer Naris and Veeranganas also provided an opportunity to honour the families of those who made sacrifices in service to the nation.

Air Force Station Bhuj used the occasion of Air Force Day to remember the bravery and sacrifice associated with the 1971 war and to recognise the spirit of the people who contributed during the period.
The event reflected the enduring bond between the Indian Air Force, veterans’ families and the local community, while remembering the contribution of the women of Madhapar during the restoration of the runway.

The Air Force Day observance at Bhuj thus combined remembrance and recognition, with the station honouring the legacy of those associated with the 1971 war and acknowledging the spirit of service and sacrifice remembered by the community.
