The Fleet to Forts Motorcycle Expedition, organised by Headquarters Western Naval Command (WNC) in association with TVS Motor Company, proceeded from Pune to Satara on Day Four of the expedition. The expedition had earlier been flagged off from Kohli Stadium in Mumbai by Vice Admiral Rahul Vilas Gokhale, Chief of Staff, Western Naval Command.
The 25-member expedition team comprises personnel and ladies from the Indian Navy. The expedition has been organised as an opportunity for the riders to carry a message to Young India to serve the nation with pride while experiencing the rich culture, heritage and landscapes of Maharashtra.
After proceeding from Pune to Satara, the expedition team visited Sainik School Satara, where the members interacted with students and faculty. The engagement provided an opportunity for the expedition team to connect with young students during its journey across Maharashtra.

The team also interacted with members of the Ex-servicemen Association of Satara over tea. The engagement formed part of the expedition’s stated objective of outreach, service and camaraderie with the ex-servicemen community.
The interaction with the ex-servicemen also provided an opportunity for the expedition team to engage with members of the veteran community in Satara as the motorcycle expedition continued through the state.
The Day Four itinerary further included a visit to the Kaas Plateau, described as a high-altitude biodiversity hotspot and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The team visited the plateau as part of its journey through the Satara region, experiencing the distinctive landscape and biodiversity associated with the location.
The expedition team also visited Jalmandir, adding another destination to the day’s itinerary.
