A pioneering test pilot and former Commandant of the Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE), Air Marshal Rajkumar played a key role in the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme as the Project Director at the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA). His leadership and technical insight were instrumental in guiding the Tejas from its prototype stage to successful flight trials, laying the foundation for Indiaโs self-reliance in combat aircraft design and development.
A 1965 War veteran, Air Marshal Rajkumarโs illustrious career with the IAF spanned several decades of service and innovation. Following his retirement, he continued to contribute to Indiaโs aerospace ecosystem through research, writing, and mentorship. He is the author of The Tejas Story: The Light Combat Aircraft Project, a widely acclaimed account of Indiaโs indigenous fighter aircraft journey.
