Belagavi witnessed a proud and inspiring military moment as 494 Agniveers of the 6th Batch were formally attested at The MARATHA Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC). The ceremonial parade, marked by precision and immaculate drill, was reviewed by Major General Hari Bhaskaran Pillai, Additional Director General Recruiting (States).
Commanded by Agniveer Pawan Yallakuri, the parade showcased the exceptional bearing, discipline, and turnout of the young soldiers who have completed their rigorous training to join one of the Indian Armyโs most decorated infantry regiments.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Naik Yashwant Ghadge, VC Medal, awarded to Agniveer Suraj More for being adjudged the Best Agniveer of the batchโan honour commemorating one of the regimentโs greatest war heroes.
The ceremony included the traditional Oath of Affirmation, reaffirming their commitment to serve the nation with courage and honour, followed by a solemn wreath-laying at the Sharqat War Memorial in tribute to fallen warriors of the regiment.

In a heartwarming gesture, proud parents of the newly attested Agniveers were honoured with the Gaurav Padak, symbolising the Armyโs gratitude for their unwavering support and sacrifice.
The event marked another milestone in shaping Indiaโs next generation of motivated, mission-ready soldiers.
