The illustrious battalion of 2 MADRAS (Goondas) celebrated its 250th Raising Day at Pangode Military Station with ceremonial pride and deep regimental fervour, marking a historic milestone in its long and distinguished service to the nation.
As part of the commemorative events, a traditional Badakhana was organised on December 12, followed by a solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony on December 13 to honour the supreme sacrifice of the battalionโs fallen heroes. The ceremony also paid tribute to the enduring strength and sacrifices of the Veer Naris, whose resilience continues to inspire all ranks.

Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, and a former commanding officer of the battalion, addressed a Special Sainik Sammelan during the celebrations. In his address, he urged all ranks to continue upholding the finest traditions of the Indian Army and the Madras Regiment, emphasising values of courage, discipline and selfless service.

The 250th Raising Day celebrations reflected the proud legacy, unwavering spirit and combat excellence of 2 MADRAS (Goondas), reaffirming the battalionโs commitment to serve the nation with honour and distinction.
