Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), visited the Simulator Development Division (SDD) on December 18, 2025, to review ongoing initiatives in advanced training technologies for the Indian Army.

During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on a range of developmental projects being undertaken by SDD in cutting-edge domains such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), simulators, and robotics. The briefings highlighted efforts to create immersive, technology-enabled training solutions aimed at enhancing realism, efficiency, and adaptability in military training.

The Army Commander appreciated the strong focus on indigenisation and innovation at SDD, noting that such initiatives are critical for evolving next-generation training simulators and modern learning tools tailored to the Indian Armyโs operational requirements. He underscored the importance of leveraging emerging technologies to improve training outcomes, reduce costs, and strengthen self-reliance.

The visit reaffirmed ARTRACโs commitment to promoting indigenous solutions and integrating advanced simulation-based training to enhance preparedness, skill development, and operational effectiveness across the Indian Army.
