The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the final merit list for the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2025 for the Officer Training Academy (OTA). A total of 535 candidates (473 Men and 62 Women) have been recommended for admission to:
- 123rd Short Service Commission Course (Men) (Non-Technical) (UPSC).
- 37th Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical) (UPSC).
These courses will commence in April 2026 at the Officer Training Academy, Chennai.
Breakdown of Vacancies
As per the official notification, the number of vacancies for these courses are:
- 275 vacancies for the 123rd Short Service Commission Course (Men).
- 18 vacancies for the 37th Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical) Course.
Merit List Details
The merit list includes candidates who qualified based on the written examination conducted by UPSC and subsequent SSB interviews conducted by the Ministry of Defence. It is important to note:
- Medical examination results have not been considered while preparing the merit list.
- Provisional status: Verification of the candidates’ Date of Birth and Educational Qualification will be carried out by the Army Headquarters.
The list for the 123rd Short Service Commission (Men) Course also includes some candidates previously recommended for the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala; and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.
Attention of the candidates is also invited to the scheme of dislosure of scores and other details of non-recommended candidates as available on the Commission’s website. Such non-recommended candidates may exercise their options while downloading their marks.

Candidates can download the UPSC CDS 1 2025 OTA result following the simple steps listed below:
- Visit the official website, upsc.gov.in
- On the homepage under the whats new section, click on Final Result: Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2025 (OTA)
- Result will be displayed on the screen
- Press ctrl + F to find your roll number
- Download and then save the result for future reference.

However, the marks of the candidates will be available on the Commission’s website within 15 days from the date of declaration of the final result and will remain available for a period of 30 days.
