Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, visited the Konark Corps to review the formation’s operational and administrative readiness, reaffirming the Army’s focus on preparedness across India’s western deserts.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on operational posture, logistics, and sustainment measures tailored to the demanding desert environment. He appreciated the Desert Corps for its emphasis on indigenous equipment solutions, in-house research and development, and focused initiatives in drone development and training, which are enhancing surveillance, precision, and responsiveness across the formation.

Lt Gen Seth lauded the Corps’ technology-driven approach—particularly the rapid absorption of unmanned systems and locally developed solutions—terming them force multipliers that significantly boost operational preparedness in arid and high-temperature conditions.
