Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander, Northern Command, chaired a Core Group Security Review meeting at Srinagar with senior officials from the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and other security agencies.
The meeting marked the commencement of a joint operational review with effect from January 22, 2026, aimed at further strengthening the security architecture in the region. Discussions focused on bolstering inter-agency intelligence sharing, enhancing the effectiveness of joint operations, and improving coordination through Joint Control Centres.
Lt Gen Sharma emphasised the importance of seamless cooperation among all security stakeholders to ensure optimal operational effectiveness in the prevailing security environment. The review underscored Northern Command’s continued focus on integrated planning, joint execution, and real-time coordination to maintain security and stability across the region.
