Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of Surya Command, visited the Golden Key Division at Clement Town and Birpur Cantonment in Dehradun to review the formation’s operational preparedness and technology-driven initiatives.

During his visit, the Army Commander inspected the Regimental Repair and Maintenance (RegRem) facility, where he appreciated the Golden Key Eagles for their efforts in the upgradation and repair of drones and Next Generation Equipment (NGEs), enhancing operational sustainability and self-reliance.

At Birpur Cantonment, Lt Gen Sengupta reviewed state-of-the-art training facilities integrating advanced weapon systems and drone simulators. He also visited the Drone Training Area, where he was briefed on training methodologies, operational capabilities and ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening drone-based operations.

Commending the formation, the Army Commander appreciated the initiative taken to establish modern training infrastructure and lauded the high standards and quality of training being imparted to troops. He emphasised the importance of realism in training, deeper technological integration and continuous innovation to enhance operational effectiveness and prepare the force for future battlefields.
The visit reaffirmed Surya Command’s focus on leveraging technology, innovation and rigorous training to maintain a combat-ready and future-oriented force.
